Extraordinary Chronicles of Ordinary Lives
Come Share Adult Day Program has been awarded a New Horizon’s Grant to record the life and times of the seniors in our community. The biography project will take approximately 1 year to coordinate and will be primarily driven by seniors. Volunteers, which will include a wide cross section of community participants, will be trained in the process of recording and documenting the fascinating histories of our older adults.
The Chronicles will afford an opportunity for all seniors, including isolated seniors, to share details of their extraordinary lives hopefully resulting in a feeling of inclusion and belonging within their community.
One of the projects objectives is to develop a sustainable program that is continued by the volunteers once Come Share staff have completed the initial setup.
Another goal of the project is to bring the generations together to learn and recognize the value of each other. This intergenerational linking will connect the community making it a stronger, safer and respectful community for all.
More training sessions are planned please call or check back onthe website for details.
